Politikens Forhal
Forhallen is JP/Politikens Hus' exhibition space for Danish and international contemporary art.
With its central location, right in the middle of The City Hall Square, Politikens Forhal creates a unique space where the connection between contemporary art and its audience is right at the forefront. The formal setting often associated with a museum visit is here erased and replaced by a more intimate setting.
The small but dedicated space gives visitors the time and space to immerse themselves in the art and the questions it raises in you. Whether it's climate, sexuality, community or identity that interests you the most, you can be sure to leave Forhallen with new reflections on life and everything in between.
Politikens Forhal has changing exhibitions with works from some of Denmark's most interesting and experimental artists. Since 1970, the motto has been ‘art for everyone’, reflecting the venue's focus on debate and new perspectives. In addition to classic exhibitions, the space offers a platform for dialogue on current social issues, through performance art and talks.
Forhallen is open daily and, unlike many other cultural experiences in Copenhagen, admission is free.
You can also satisfy your hunger at the exhibition centre's newly opened café, Bookmark coffee. Here, you can enjoy coffee and freshly baked pastries, and design connoisseurs will most definately find interest in the delicious +Halle furniture.
