Øens Have

Enjoy a unique, green, local and organic dining experience at Øens Have, Northern Europe's largest urban farm and a green oasis in the centre of the city's vibrant life. Here, plants are allowed to flourish freely for the sake of the bees, and the place is a social hub and community filled with activities based on sustainable visions.

In Øens Have on Refshaleøen, an old industrial area, you can take a break from Copenhagen's vibrant city life in a green oasis filled with fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers, buzzing bees, clucking chickens, wild birds, insects and micro life.

The place consists of an urban farm divided into different sections, each with its own unique character. Take a walk through the herb gardens, where herbs and vegetables grow side by side, or enjoy the colourful lush beds and creative buildings. If you have children with you, you can get a treasure map and go on a plant safari through the different beds!

Enjoy a refreshing dining experience in the restaurant, located in the centre of the garden in a so-called 'yurt tent' and serving food based on a farm-to-table concept. All the vegetables grown in the garden end up on your plate. Øens Have works with interesting producers ranging from local organic farmers to gentle fishermen. The menu is seasonal and therefore changes regularly according to the availability of seasonal produce.

Øens Have is the largest urban farm in Northern Europe. They have a wide range of sustainable visions, which is reflected in the atmosphere of the place from the moment you enter. They want to make the city greener, ecosystems less alienated and to inspire citizens and tourists to reconnect people and nature.

The place was established together with Denmark's first urban farm Østergro, the greenhouse restaurant Gro Spiseri, the food community Fællesgro and a lot of enthusiastic volunteers. The owners encourage you to visit the site without fear of getting your hands dirty, so you can get an authentic experience of this very special place through the many different sustainable activities.
