Nordic Ethanol

In the up-and-coming Flyverbyen on Amager, lies Nordic Ethanol, who not only produces their own spirits, but has also opened a bright and stylish venue for both small and large events.

Nordic Ethanol is a collaboration between two Michelin-starred chefs and a bartender who have come together after many years in their respective industries. In an effort to use as many local and sustainable ingredients as possible, several different spirits are developed, made, distributed, and served from their premises in Flyverbyen.

Behind the facades lies a research and development kitchen that experiments with everything Danish land and sea has to offer. For example, their dill aquavit is made with seaweed, resulting in a modern take on a Danish classic. The three brains behind it have always worked with different flavours in the highest league, and this is reflected in their spirits. In 2022, they won the Danish Gløgg Championship. The gløgg had classic Christmas spices in it, but also a twist of cocoa and tonga beans. It was made with their own organic caraway aquavit, white rum and amaro - and topped with organic tempranillo. In other words, the best of the best was used in the mulled wine, just like in all their other creations.

In their beautiful and newly opened showroom, you can visit both as a private person and with the entire company behind you. You can get a solid cocktail at a competitive price, and there are often events where, for instance, roasting suckling pigs is on the menu.

A visit to Nordic Ethanol will make all your senses dance. The visuals, the flavour experience, and the incredible knowledge the three gentlemen possess are unlike anything you often experience. You can, of course, also buy the spirit to take home!
