Christmas market on Højbro Plads

International Christmas market in the heart of Copenhagen.

Beautifully decorated pine trees, glittering lights, wooden cottages, pixie elves, reindeer and Santa himself. All that you'll find at the Christmas market at Højbro Square located right in the most buzzing part of Copenhagen's shopping mecca and Europe's longest pedestrian street Strøget. A location which makes perfect sense when the urge for hot mulled wine and roasted almonds takes over during a day of Christmas shopping.

In this small Christmas village, the prettiest red log cabins stand side by side, all competing about your attention with all their pretty or delicious Christmas goods. Go hunting for presents among the stalls that are packed with glass art, paper cuttings, delicacies, wool socks and knit. You'll find lots of original Danish crafts and design, but also German sausages and the Reich-families homemade glühwein, which is mixed with cinnamon, cardamom, orange and lemon peel. You can also warm your hands on a cup of hot chocolate while you rummage through the stalls at one of Copenhagen's cosiest Christmas markets.
