Café Pegasus
It's the mix of good food and art that sets the agenda for Østerbro's local hang-out spot and contemporary art museum Den Frie's café; Café Pegasus.
Quality. Simplicity. Generosity. These are the three core values at Café Pegasus. This is not only reflected in its menu, but also in the interior design of the café. The Free Exhibition Centre was originally built by artist, photographer, ceramist and architect J.F. Willumsen, and it was his iconic architecture and furniture that became the starting point for the two architects, Mathias Mentze and Alexander V. Ottenstein, when they undertook a comprehensive redesign of the café. You can therefore both experience and settle down in the original historic benches or kick back with a good cup of coffee in the two architects' reproduction of Den Frieze's iconic wicker chair.
Café Pegasus has a strong focus on seasonal ingredients, and therefore offers a vibrant menu with sandwiches, salads and small dishes that all change with the seasons. In addition, you will find a good selection of drinks such as homemade iced tea, soft drinks from Naturfrisk, natural wine from Vin på Nørrebro, beer from Herslev Bryghus, coffee and cake.
