Where did she stay? Where did she eat? Where did she go? Follow in the footsteps of Paris Hilton, release your inner diva, and experience Copenhagen through the eyes of the Hilton heiress. Here is your guide to Paris Hilton's Copenhagen.
From Monday 4 to Friday 8 August 2008 Paris Hilton visited Copenhagen. The star was in the Danish capital in connection with Copenhagen Fashion Week to promote her new purse collection, produced in cooperation with the Danish company PH Europe. "I love Denmark!", "Danes are so sweet", "Danes are exceptionally beautiful" and "Copenhagen is the hottest fashion city", came across the celebrity's lips. Follow in her footsteps.
Hotel Skt. Petri
Paris Hilton stayed in the fashionable five star Hotel Skt. Petri in Copenhagen's Latin quarter. The hotel is located in the former shopping centre Daells Varehus, which was designed by architect Wilhelm Lauritzen in 1928. Today, the newly renovated building houses Denmark's most-designed hotel, where everything is specially designed in the colours red, white and blue. A funny detail that shows the building's past as a store, is the escalators, leading from the entrance of Krystalgade up to the lobby. Had Paris had her dogs with her in Copenhagen, they could even have been spoiled with the hotel's "Pet pampering" package.
Tivoli
On Paris Hilton's second day in Copenhagen she first visited children at Copenhagen's central hospital Rigshospitalet. Later she stopped by one of the city's biggest attractions, Tivoli Gardens. Here, she was interviewed in front of the Concert Hall and went on the Roller Coaster and the Ferris Wheel with rocker boyfriend Benji Madden from the band Good Charlotte. Tuesday evening she ate at the Michelin restaurant The Paul, named after and run by English-born gourmet chef Paul Cunningham.
Zum Biergarten
Wednesday Paris Hilton went to the beer bar Zum Biergarten at Axeltorv square in central Copenhagen. The German-inspired beer bar, where you can order around 40 different kinds of beer, sandwiches and grilled food, is all about lederhosen, coloured lights, long tables and Octoberfest atmosphere - not the expected choice for a celebrity like Paris. However, she did not come to drink beer, but to do a photo shoot in the great hall affiliated with stone walls and high ceilings.
Mielcke & Hurtigkarl
Wednesday evening, Paris had announced her arrival at the opening of the new restaurant Mielcke & Hurtigkarl in the Copenhagen district Frederiksberg, but was prevented. The new restaurant is located in a protected building from the 1600's, which so far has housed the restaurant Gastronomique, in Frederiksberg Garden by Frederiksberg Runddel. It is the gourmet chefs Jakob Mielcke Hansen and Jan Hurtigkarl who operates the restaurant. The couple experiment with different themes, both in food and interior. Their first theme is garden and nature.
Waterfront Shopping
Thursday Paris went to the international fashion fair in Bella Center, where she showed her new purse collection. Later she visited the shopping centre Waterfront Shopping in Hellerup, just north of the city, where she was the guest of honour at the opening of her own Hilton shop, selling her handbags. The 8,000 square metre large shopping Mecca is located 100 metres from Strandvejen in the former Tuborg Harbour, where a new marina is under construction. It offers a mix of trendy shops, stores, cafes, playground, fitness center and a unique waterfront.
klub No. 8
Paris Hilton spent her last night in Copenhagen at the celebrity nightclub klub No. 8 at Hovedvagtsgade by Strøget. Here she partied and drank champagne with her Danish celebrity friends until 03.00, when she left the place through the back door - like a true celebrity.
